🟢 Between the Roc and the Estang in Saoû 🟢

This 5 km hike, with a height difference of 140 meters, is also easily accessible. Allow about 2 hours to complete this loop. The start is in Saoû, a village of 575 inhabitants, at the edge of the forest of the same name, with many craftsmen such as hatters, jewelers and painters.

The circuit will allow you to discover a great diversity of landscapes, ranging from wetlands to arid areas, passing through the village and the forest while contemplating the massifs of the Saoû forest all along the route.

🔵 Le Veyou, one of the Trois Becs 🔵

Take on an unmissable hike in the Drôme: the Trois Becs, the highest point in the Saoû forest (1,589 m). This short version allows you to climb the first peak, the Veyou, the highest peak. With a distance of 6 km and an elevation gain of 660 meters, allow around 3.5 hours for this route. Despite the elevation gain, this hike remains accessible thanks to stone steps designed to secure the passage and limit erosion. These steps make the climb easier, but can be tiring for the legs, especially on the way down.

The summit offers a 360° panoramic view of the region, from the Vercors to the Rhône Valley. Be careful of the high attendance, especially in summer, and choose your times carefully. As this circuit is not very shaded and has no water points, bring suitable equipment.

🔴 Roche Colombe from Saoû 🔴

Roche Colombe, to the west of the Saoû forest, is accessible from the village of Saoû. This 10 km circuit with a height difference of 600 meters requires approximately 4h30 to complete the journey.

The start is from the car park behind the fire station. The ascent, via the south façade, offers a breathtaking panorama of Saoû and its surroundings. At the top, you will enjoy a 360° view: the Saoû forest to the east, the Drôme and Rhône valleys to the north and west and the Roubion valley to the south.

For seasoned hikers, here is the complete circuit of the Trois Becs: approximately 10 km of walking with an elevation gain of 1,130 metres, requiring approximately 6 hours to complete.

Start with the first Bec, the Veyou, the highest point, then continue with the Signal and Roche Courbe. On the way down, you will pass near the Rocher de la Laveuse, a pierced rock offering a unique view of the village of Saillans. You will then join the GR9 to return to the Pas de Siara without having to climb the summits again.
